He helped hand deliver the first H&S beers when we were being brewed at the Farmer’s Branch location and then helped in the transition to our permanent home here in Grapevine. He has been involved with Hop and Sting since they were still brewing in the barn at Jon’s parents house. Then in 2017 he helped Beer Dudes mobile canning get up and running as their interim line lead until he could train a permanent staff. He also helped can with Armadillo mobile canning when they were short staffed for a period. While there he would occasionally consult for other breweries to help with canning line issues. He quickly moved up to packaging and once GCB moved to their permanent location he was promoted to Packaging Manager. Lane started his career in the industry at Grapevine Craft Brewery in 2015 as a keg washer under Caton Orrell and Brian Burton. He’s our “Jack of all trades, master of some”. He’s a DJ, Property Manager, Carpenter, and licensed Drone Pilot. Lane Joseph was born right here in Grapevine, TX and moved to Denton, TX to attend UNT. Upon leaving Grapevine Craft Brewery to help start Hop and Sting Brewing Company, he expanded his brewing knowledge by working with the brewers at Four Corners Brewing Company and Texas Ale Project. He worked his way up from keg washer to Production Manager/Brewer in less than two years. While not at sea, Brian traveled to the likes of Central America, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Asian Subcontinent, where he developed a fondness for new culinary flavors and aromas.īrian started his brewing career at Grapevine Craft Brewery in 2014 where he learned under Jon Powell, Gavin Secchi (3 Nations) and Caton Orrell (Boulevard and Grapevine). In 2010, he was enrolled in an American Brewers Guild program and passed his level 2 Cicerone. While studying Environmental Science at Humboldt State University in Northern California, he experienced a thriving craft beer scene throughout the Pacific Northwest.Īfter moving back to Texas in 2008, Jon began to homebrew and saw that Texas was full of craft beer enthusiasts, but lacking in breweries. Jon Powell is originally from Southern California (Cypress, CA) and moved to Southlake, TX at the age of 13.
